I was there that night! Camping out on the cold sidewalk. A good friend's brother had it on very good word that tickets would go on sale that next morning. I remember feeling that I really had the scoop! I got front row for both shows. I think they were $8.50 a piece. I was 4th or 5th in line and was bummed when I got into the first show--the ticket seller had started at the aisle and I had a crick in my neck the next day from looking sideways the entire afternoon. Joni M sat right in front of us, on the floor behind a low barricade for a long while to catch Bob's set with Joan B. Her cigarette smoke curled up and we asked a rodie later for one of her butts and he just glared at us! We deserved it. I remember Chestnut Mare by Roger M as a real highlight. He really rocked on that one. And the other was Hurricane, tho I was not a huge fan of that recording. But Bob made it work that night. I saw Bruce on his Born to Run tour later that fall down at Kleinhans Music Hall. It was that or stay home to study for a chemistry final at UB. I took Bruce and got a D on the final. Good fall for concerts! Thanks for "bringing it all back home."
