These are dangerous times, when a community can lose an institution like a newspaper and no one notices. And young, naive reporters ask for comment from the very foxes the newspaper was guarding against. Who knows what villany will occur before the next newspaper opens up. Blogs are all well and good, but they don’t serve the same investigative purpose that newspapers do. We miss you Nick! When you left, the DVN lost its relevance. What the beancounters don’t get, is that there won’t be anyone to interview them when all the papers close. They are no more protected than the rest of us. I guess their new focus should be on learning how to shut off the lights when they leave (ps it has something to do with the plate on the wall).
