My son and I will head up the New York State Thruway in a few weeks to Saratoga Springs — for a concert featuring Bob Dylan and the Levon Helm Band! As we bow our heads and tip our hats while passing Woodstock and Saugerties, I bet we will be listening to Dylan and the Band — and wishing we didn’t have to wait until October for the newest installment in the Bootleg Series, “Tell-Tale Signs.”

  1. I should listen to more of Dylan’s music. Why do you think classic rock stations don’t play more Dylan? I am thinking specifically of 104.3 here in New York. Granted I do not listen to it religiously, but it is rare that I hear a Dylan tune on it, where as the DJs have no qualms about playing the whole Zeppelin and Beatles catalogs. When they do play Dylan, it is either “Like a Rolling Stone” or “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35.” I realize he is folk, but he’s also classic rock. Why do you think they do not play him more often? It is certainly not from lack of talent.
